Christmas closure period

Dec 2022: Arrangements for NHS outpatient and research appointments over the Festive period.
In line with the University of Edinburgh Christmas closure dates, the Anne Rowling Clinic, including the Clinic reception, will close at 5 pm on Thursday 22nd December 2022, and re-open at 8 am on Wednesday 4th January 2023.
NHS out-patient appointments and telephone calls
There will be no NHS outpatient appointments during this time. The reception desk will also be closed. We kindly ask that no messages are left on the reception answerphone during this period, as there will be no staff to deal with these during the closure period.
What should I do in an emergency?
If you have MS and your call is urgent, please contact your GP in the first instance. If you need to speak to your MS nurse, please contact 0131 312 0720 and leave a message for one of the team to call you back. Please do not additionally call our reception as this will be closed over the Christmas closure period.
If you have MND and your call is urgent, please contact your GP in the first instance. If you need to speak to your MND nurse, please contact either Gill Stott 0771 1386 201 or Alison McEleney 0771 1386 202, and leave a message with your contact number for them to call you back.
Research appointments and telephone calls
Likewise, there will be no research appointments during this time, We will have on-call staff only for urgent clinical trial inquiries.
I'm on a clinical trial, what should I do in an emergency?
If you are a research participant on either the MND-SMART clinical trial or the MS-STAT2 clinical trial and you need to speak to one of the research nurses or doctors urgently, please contact 0131 465 9517. Please leave a message making sure you leave your name, the trial name, and a number for staff to call you back on as staff will be accessing this remotely.
In an emergency where you are being treated in a hospital or by a GP, please follow the advice you have been given on your trial contact card.
