June 2023: Introducing two University of Edinburgh undergraduates working with us as interns this summer.

We are delighted to announce this year we have two interns who will be working with our communications and outreach team, as part of an internship programme called 'Employ.ed' run by the University of Edinburgh.

Andzile Ndzabukelwako is currently a 3rd year neuroscience student who previously ran the Edinburgh Afrobeat Dance Society’s marketing and outreach whilst president of the Society. She believes in the power of effective communication to bridge the gap between researchers, clinicians and the wider public. Andzile strives to improve awareness of advancements in regenerative neurology. In her free time, Andzile enjoys hiking, playing her cello and chasing after her baby tortoise in the meadows.

“Looking forward to gaining more valuable experience in the regenerative neurology field, whilst working alongside such welcoming and positive people.”

Ella Doubleday, is a 4th year biomedical science student who is passionate about neurology and brain development. Ella is interested in applying her scientific knowledge and her experience in social media management, website design and logo design, to a career in medical communications and marketing. Ella works closely with a student run mental health charity, Conscious, as their well-being and publicity lead. She attends life drawing classes and also enjoys running. Ella is hoping to run the Edinburgh marathon in 2024 with us!

‘We have received the warmest welcome from everyone and I am so excited for the next 10 weeks and getting involved in some exciting projects involving the Clinic and research done by the Anne Rowling Clinic.’

Andzile and Ella aim to carry forward the values of the Anne Rowling Clinic by igniting curiosity and encouraging collaboration.
