Thank you to our 2022 fundraisers!

Thank-you to our generous supporters 2022 slide

Dec 2022: As we near the end of this year, we want to acknowledge and celebrate all of the wonderful supporters who have raised funds and awareness of our vital research.

Thank you so much for everything you have done - we are extremely grateful to you, and your friends and family who have donated in response to your fundraising efforts.

To everyone who has fundraised and everyone who has supported a fundraising challenge or activity, we give our sincere thanks. Together in 2022, you have raised over £18,500 in aid of our research.

Here is a snap-shot of just some of our fantastic fundraisers. For more fundraising inspiration our Supporters Stories page has helpful hints and tips for you.

Weddings, anniversaries, and birthdays

When David and Helen celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary, they combined their celebrations with fundraising in aid of the Anne Rowling Clinic. Read their story. Neil and Jordanne who got married in 2022, very kindly included us in their wedding celebrations.

Pamela celebrated her big birthday in style earlier this year and used this as a great reason to support our work. Read Pamela's story and be inspired.

Climbing, and running

In May 2022, Andrew, Darrin, and Jonathan took on the Three Peaks Challenge by climbing Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike, and Snowdon in just 24 hours. Melony challenged herself to climb Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest mountain in Africa, and the highest single-standing mountain above sea level in the world.

Although Laura had to pull out of the Edinburgh Marathon Festival, she still managed to raise funds for the Anne Rowling Clinic. She hopes to take part in the 2023 Edinburgh Marathon Festival, we wish her good luck.

George completed two different 10k runs to raise funds in aid of our progressive supranuclear palsy (PSP) research.

Sponsored walks and guided tours

Horse lover Rhona set up MS Borders Racing Club in 2004 to raise awareness of multiple sclerosis (MS) and raise funds in aid of MS charities. In 2022, Rhona organised a sponsored walk, which included an interesting stable tour for the participants. Read about Rhona's fundraising.

James who is a guide on Edinburgh's Potter Trail, not only adds a bit of sorcery to his tours, but he also donates all his tips to the Anne Rowling Clinic

Arty fundraising

Aurora used her artistic gifts to raise money in honour of two family members.

Christmas bonuses and salary giving

People often kindly support our research through donations through their salaries. The Verdane Foundation give Christmas bonuses in the form of charitable donations to their staff. Thank you to Axel, for nominating the Anne Rowling Clinic to receive his Christmas donation.

Scotland's Kiltwalks

Over the years we have had many people support our research by participating in one of the many Scottish Kiltwalks. This year Gemma, Jack, Louise, Luke, and Martin took part in the Edinburgh Kiltwalk, completing the Big Stroll around Scotland's capital together.

Starting her Kiltwalk challenge in the City of Discovery, Zoë walked 26 miles through North Fife, Dundee, and Angus to raise funds for the Clinic. Read Zoe's story.

Remembering a loved one

In addition to the fantastic fundraisers acknowledged above, we would also like to give our sincere thanks to everyone who supported us in 2022 in memory and celebration of a loved one. It is a very kind and special thing to do, and we truly appreciate your thinking of us.
