Liz Elliott became interested in neurogenetics at medical school where she carried out an intercalated BSc in Human Genetics in 2009 before qualifying in medicine at Kings College London in 2012. She continued her general medical training in the North East of England and gained membership to the Royal College of Physicians in 2016. Liz then spent a year at the John Walton Muscular Dystrophy Research Centre as a clinical research associate and sub-investigator on a range of neuromuscular trials and observational studies.

She joined the Anne Rowling Clinic in March 2018 as a clinical research fellow where she is a sub-investigator on a range of neuroregenerative studies across multiple sclerosis and motor neurone disease.
