James Cooper
James Cooper is a Senior Research Technician in Professor Siddharthan Chandran's laboratory at the University of Edinburgh. He specialises in genetically engineering cultures of human embryonic stem cells (ESC), and induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSC) to create models of neurodegenerative diseases. He is also responsible for managing and maintaining stem cells derived from patients and is an important member of the core team. James is passionate about sharing his knowledge with students and postdocs, and he always stays up-to-date with the latest technology.
Before joining the University of Edinburgh in 2017, James worked as a Senior Research Assistant at the British Heart Foundation Oxbridge Centre of Regenerative Medicine, and as an Advanced Research Assistant at the Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute in Cambridge.
