Ethan has been a Research Nurse at the Anne Rowling Regenerative Neurology Clinic since 2022.
Ethan received a 1:1 Bachelor Adult Nursing degree from the University of Edinburgh and has completed further studies at the University of Edinburgh, receiving a Merit grade MSc in Advanced Nursing specialising in Leadership and Public Health Policy. Before joining the Anne Rowling Clinic, Ethan was previously employed by NHS Lothian, where he worked within the Vascular Surgery department, and continues his clinical work alongside his career in research.
Ethan's career in research at the Anne Rowling Clinic has included involvement in a mixture of clinical drug trials (such as MND-SMART and Lighthouse II), research trials (such as FUTURE-MS2), along with a few independent and nurse lead research projects. These independent projects include a wide range of different research topics from epidemiological and population-based studies, research into trial participation, and research into the NHS workforce. Towards the end of 2023 Ethan joined a NHS Education for Scotland (NES) working group that aims to complete a competency mapping exercise for Advanced Nurse Specialists based in neurology.
