The Anne Rowling Clinic is currently the main recruitment site in Scotland for AD-SMART, a new UK trial launched today, aiming to accelerate the testing of potential treatments for Alzheimer’s disease. Professor Suvankar Pal is the local Principal Investigator, leading the Clinic’s involvement in the study.

AD-SMART uses an innovative trial design to test multiple medicines simultaneously, rather than evaluating each treatment in a separate trial. This approach could more than halve the time needed to test potential Alzheimer’s treatments, helping researchers identify promising therapies more efficiently.

The Clinic’s involvement highlights its commitment to advancing clinical research and improving outcomes for people affected by neurodegenerative conditions.
