Unwrapping Myelin - how our nerves are protected and how we might repair them.

The Edinburgh Neuroscience Public Christmas Lecture is an annual event bringing the latest neuroscience research to a public audience.

This year, join Professors Lyons and Williams for a fascinating lecture exploring myelin – the protective coating around our nerves – and its role in keeping our brains and nervous systems healthy. Discover the latest research into how myelin damage contributes to conditions such as multiple sclerosis and dementia, and the exciting potential for future treatments to protect and repair it.

Afterwards, enjoy a festive reception, explore scientific exhibits and browse popular science books and Edinburgh Neuroscience merchandise.

Everyone is welcome – bring along family and friends for an evening of science and festive cheer!

Speakers

Anna Williams, Professor of Regenerative Neurology

David Lyons, Professor of Neurobiology

Professors Williams and Lyons are co-Directors of Multiple Sclerosis Society Edinburgh Centre of MS Research at the University of Edinburgh.
