Beth’s research focuses on using advanced MRI techniques, not typically available in the clinic, to find biomarkers of disease progression, particularly myelin loss and neurodegeneration, in multiple sclerosis (MS). Currently, Beth is particularly interested in using high-field 7T MRI to investigate the biological mechanisms of fatigue in MS.
Prior to her role as an academic postdoctoral research fellow, Beth completed a BA in Psychology and French at the University of Glasgow, followed by a Dual MSc in Brain and Mind Sciences at University College London and Sorbonne University in Paris. She was awarded her PhD in 2022 from the University of Edinburgh focusing on advanced MRI biomarkers of demyelination in multiple sclerosis.
