Dr Dominic Ng
Dominic Ng is an aspiring clinical academic in neurology, currently pursuing a PhD under the supervision of Professors Siddharthan Chandran, Valentina Escott-Price, and Henrik Zetterberg. His research explores the genetic and molecular mechanisms of motor neuron disease (MND) and frontotemporal dementia (FTD) using statistical learning on large multi-omics datasets such as Answer ALS and the UK Biobank.
Dominic completed his medical degree through a joint program between the University of St Andrews, where he earned First Class Honours, and the University of Manchester, where he also obtained a Master of Research (Distinction). Previously, Dominic was an Academic Foundation Trainee at the Royal Surrey County Hospital and later worked at the National Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease Unit, contributing to national surveillance for neurodegenerative diseases. He also serves as an SSC1 project tutor at the University of Edinburgh, supervising a 10-week research project for first-year medical students.
