Dr Sarah Marrinan
Sarah Marrinan is a consultant in Medicine of the Elderly in NHS Lothian. She has a specialist interest in Parkinson’s Disease and related movement disorders. Sarah’s MD research focused on gastrointestinal dysfunction in people with Parkinson’s disease and specifically issues with delayed gastric emptying. She has been involved in a number of clinical trials and continues to be active in Parkinson’s research.
Sarah studied medicine at Newcastle University and completed specialist training in Geriatric and General Medicine in the North East of England before taking up a consultant post in Edinburgh in 2015.
Sarah has an interest in postgraduate medical education and is a faculty member and speaker for the ‘Parkinson’s Academy Foundation Masterclass.’ Sarah has also been Training Programme Director for Geriatric Medicine in South East Scotland since 2019.
